We will no longer be carrying Palo Santo or White Sage

Smudging is the act of purifying and cleansing energy using smoke from sacred plants. White Sage is a sacred herb that has been used by Native Americans for years in ceremonies, rituals, and other spiritual practices. The Palo Santo, or “Holy Wood,” essence is created from a process where a (naturally) dying Palo Santo tree falls and remains there for three or more years before being harvested.

These herbs were never intended to be grown for mass production/consumption and increased demand has lead to over-harvesting, making Palo Santo and White Sage endangered species.

We want to honor this and will no longer be carrying these sacred plants or using them in our personal spiritual practices. We, instead, are offering alternatives such as Florida Water and curating blends for your use. We ask that you join us and make a conscious effort to honor our Earth mother by becoming more ethical and sustainable in your spiritual practices.

Thank you for understanding.

Smudging

Smudging is the act of purifying and cleansing energy using smoke from sacred plants. Smudging increases negative ions and can either bring in positive energy and/or remove negative energy.

Due to increased demand, there has been a surplus in the harvesting of White Sage and Palo Santo. White Sage is a sacred herb that has been used by Native Americans for years in ceremonies, rituals, and other spiritual practices. This herb was never intended to be grown for mass production/consumption and is now an endangered species.

Palo Santo literally translates to “Holy Wood.” This sacred wood essence is created from a process where a (naturally) dying Palo Santo tree falls and remains there for three or more years before being harvested. Similar to White Sage, this tree was never intended to be grown and used for mass production so the increased demand has lead to over-harvesting, making Palo Santo an endangered species also.

Although these herbs are popular amongst many spiritual communities we wish to serve, we want to honor this and will no longer be carrying these sacred plants and will only use them sparingly in our personal spiritual practices. We, instead, are offering alternatives such as Florida Water and curating blends for your use. There are tons of other plants that may be used to energetically cleanse a space that grow abundantly (i.e. lavender, garden sage, blue sage, cedar wood, rosemary, sweetgrass, etc) and can be used as alternatives to White Sage and Palo Santo. We ask that you join us and make a conscious effort to honor our Earth mother by becoming more ethical and sustainable in your spiritual practices.

Thank you for understanding.
